The NFU has responded to the Environment Agency consultation on technical changes to its charging regimes for 2014.
- a 2.7 % increase in baseline charges for Environmental permitting waste facilities and Environmental permitting installations; and
- new application or subsistence charges to previously exempt abstractions (including IDB transfers).
We questioned the Agency’s proposals to increase baseline charges for Environmental permitting facilities and installations without further information to support these changes and we rejected the Agency’s proposals to introduce either a new application or a new subsistence charge in its abstraction charging regime for IDB transfers.
