Senior Adviser on Planning and Rural Affairs Suzanne Clear said.
"The NFU have helped lead the agenda through pioneering work in the North East, national campaigning work on fly tipping and fly grazing and through the work of County Advisors who countrywide have been liaising with Police Crime Commissioners, sharing Members concerns and working with them to help reduce crime and the fear of crime."
Regional Director Richard Pearson said:
“Rural crime has been a cause of real concern for many of our members across the North East, whether farming on the urban fringe or in remote rural areas. We have worked hard to encourage local PCCs to give a higher priority to rural policing so very much welcome the launch of this new national initiative that should help highlight best practice and focus precious time, effort and resources on delivering the results rural communities need and deserve.”
The NFU work with the National Rural Crime Network is one of the ways we seek to reduce rural crime and antisocial behaviour issues for Members. Members can also secure discounts on Tracker and Datag asset identification products through their Farmer and Grower Membership.
