DAY ONE: Schmidt Farms and Chesapeake Bay

Guy and Mike's first stop on their USSEC USA trip was to Schmidt Farms,Sudlersville, Maryland where Tim and Jennie Schmidt started no-till farming in 1971. GMO crops in the US accelerated this across the country since late 1990s.

On the second day of their USSEC trip, Guy and Mike visited Beam Farms, Pennsylvania where Bill Beam talked them through how he runs his 3,000 acre farm and the challenges he faces.

Mike and Guy visited the Iowa Soybean Association in Ankney to find out about prodection, profitability and the impacts on natural resources and the environment in the sector.

It's day four of their trip and Guy and Mike visit Tim Smith's 850 acre farm in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He farms 323 hectares of ?soy and maize and has 230 hectares of cover crops of cereal rye.

On the final day of the USSEC trip, Guy and Mike visit a farm in Perry, Iowa owned by Ron Heck. They watched the harvest and learnt about their practices on farm and how they run their operation.
