The Carlow farmer posted a video to YouTube of his innovative approach, which uses a drone to manoeuvre his flock. The idea has proved a hit and the video has gone viral, with more than 250,000 views of ‘Shep the World’s First Drone Sheepdog’ in three days.
Here at the NFU, we’re not sure the idea will ‘take off’, but it does prove that farmers are increasingly tech-savvy and using cutting-edge techniques to produce quality food. Watch the video below.
