Want to talk to the NFU's poultry representatives? You can meet them at the British Pig and Poultry fair (Hall 12, stand 860) on 15-16 May at the NEC, Birmingham.

Organised by the RASE (Royal Agricultural Society of England) and partnered by ABN (leading British manufacturer of pig and poultry feeds), the fair is the UK’s leading technical business event for the pig and poultry industry showcasing the latest technology and business information.

Hear from NFU specialists

Visit the NFU's stand and meet NFU Poultry Board chair James Mottershead, new NFU Poultry Board vice chair Will Raw along with other members of the NFU Poultry Board.

Day one – Wednesday 15 May

10:00 - 11:00 – Egg Outlook - helping you plan ahead (Poultry Forum Theatre)

Get the low down from industry experts from different parts of the supply chain, on their predictions for the challenges and opportunities ahead for eggs. Chaired by NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony, the Outlook forum will provide valuable insight for everyone in the egg sector.

12:00 - 12:30 – Supporting today’s generation, inspiring the next (Poultry Forum Theatre)

The NFU, in partnership with ABN, is passionate about driving forward the poultry sector. In this session our future industry ambassadors, Henry Gibbs, Matthew Donald and Tom Glen, will be sharing their journeys to date. They will impart their own thoughts on why encouraging the next generation to our sector is so important and how initiatives like the NFU’s Poultry Industry Programme has opened up opportunities and helped develop key skills to support them in their current roles. We will also hear what is next in their career journeys. After the session, join us on the NFU stand, where previous Poultry Industry Programme members and the session speakers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

12:45 - 1:45 – Poultry Meat Outlook - expert insight for the year ahead (Poultry Forum Theatre)

What should you be planning for? Industry experts including NFU Poultry Board vice chair Will Raw share their outlooks for the year ahead. Hear what they see as the challenges and opportunities ahead for the poultry meat sector.

The winner of the Zoetis-NFU Poultry Trainee Award will be announced during the Supporting today’s generation, inspiring the next session.

The Zoetis-NFU Poultry Trainee Award celebrates inspiring individuals who are currently undertaking training in the poultry sector and actively developing their career. Now in its 17th year, the award is judged on the progress made by relative newcomers to the industry, of all ages, through workplace training. It also looks at their plans to progress their careers. Meet the 2023 award finalists Emily Green, Stephanie Pedrick and Olivia Robinson at: Finalists compete for Zoetis – NFU Poultry Trainee Award 2023.
