- Chief livestock adviser John Royle, livestock adviser Phoebe Traquair and Livestock Board chair David Barton are attending the Scottish Government bovine electronic ID stakeholder meeting in Edinburgh.
Tuesday 14 January
- NFU President Tom Bradshaw and animal health and welfare chief adviser Cat McLaughlin are attending a Defra roundtable on Bluetongue. Defra Ministers Daniel Zeichner and Baroness Hayman will be there.
- NFU Deputy President David Exwood is attending the Association of Independent Crop Consultants' Annual Conference Gala Dinner.
- The Efra Select Committee is holding an evidence session on The Future of Farming. Giving evidence is Defra permanent secretary Dame Tamara Finkelstein, Defra director general of food of biosecurity and trade Emily Miles, and Defra deputy director of the food and countryside programme Jonathan Baker.
- There is a parliamentary debate on the ‘impact of planned changes to agricultural property relief and business property relief on small businesses’.
- The NFU, alongside colleagues from the NPA, BEIC and BPC, is hosting a ‘meet the producer’ event for MPs in Westminster, as part of the APPG for UK Food Security. Around 40 MPs are booked in to meet poultry producers and hear about the challenges facing the industry. Food Security Minister Daniel Zeichner will also say a few words.
