Monday 20 January

  • NFU Deputy President David Exwood will be attending the Crown Estate’s Nature Reception.
  • NFU Vice President Rachel Hallos is meeting with the head of the National Rural Crime Unit Andy Huddleston.
  • Head of food, farming and environment Fayza Benlamkadem is attending a roundtable on natural flood management.

Tuesday 21 January

  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw and the director general of the NFU Terry Jones are meeting with Trades Union Congress secretary-general Paul Nowak.
  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw will be attending the Lincoln & District Industry Dinner to Agriculture.
  • NFU Deputy President David Exwood will be speaking at the East Young Member Conference.
  • NFU Vice President Rachel Hallos is speaking at the Somerset Management Meeting and a Challenge of Rural Leadership event.
  • The Horticulture & Potatoes Board will be meeting. The agenda includes what future productivity funding opportunities are needed, strategies to secure the future of the EU Fruit & Veg aid scheme, and an independent farm assurance report. Applications have also opened for members to join the Horticulture & Potatoes Board.
  • The Livestock Board will be meeting.
  • NFU chief renewable energy adviser Dr Jonathan Scurlock is attending the fourth Annual Meeting of the UKRI-funded greenhouse gas demonstrator project on enhanced rock weathering, hosted by the University of Sheffield. This will take place 21-22 January.
  • Environment policy adviser Zoe Moore is speaking at the Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum on the next steps for flooding – risk mitigation and resilience in England.
  • Chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be attending a Defra and poultry meat sector policy meeting to discuss current challenges facing the British poultry meat sector.

Wednesday 22 January

  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw is addressing students at Bridgend College.
  • NFU Vice President Rachel Hallos is meeting with the Clun Forest Group.

  • NFU chief renewable energy adviser Dr Jonathan Scurlock is the opening speaker for the Innovate UK Business Connect webinar on Agrifood Innovations, focusing on energy.
  • NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be attending the GB Avian Influenza Core Group meeting. This will be hosted by the APHA and Defra.

Friday 24 January

  • NFU Deputy President David Exwood is attending the Assured Food Standards board meeting.

Saturday 25 January

  • The National Day of Unity to stop the family farm tax is taking place.
