Monday 28 April

  • NFU Deputy President David Exwood will be meeting with UK Agri-Tech Head of External Affairs, Dr Grace O’Gorman.
  • NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be judging the National Egg and Poultry Awards in London.

Tuesday 29 April

  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw will be giving evidence on the Land Use Framework to the Efra Committee.
  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw is meeting with the President-Elect of King’s College Students’ Union, Baiyu Liu.
  • NFU Deputy President David Exwood is attending a Farm Tenancy Forum.
  • NFU Vice President Rachel Hallos will be attending an NFU Wells branch meeting on flooding.
  • The NFU Sugar Board will be meeting.
  • The NFU Poultry Industry Programme members will be visiting Westminster for a tour of the Houses of Parliament. They will also meet Efra Committee Chair Alistair Carmichael MP. Their engagement with stakeholders will continue on Wednesday.
  • NFU sustainability group lead Jack Watts will be appearing on a panel at the Innovation Zero World Congress. The panel will speak about agricultural systems and climate mitigation, and adaptation.
  • NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be attending an Avian Influenza Vaccination Taskforce. Later that day, she will be attending the South West Chicken Association conference in Exeter alongside Poultry Board vice chair Will Raw.

Wednesday 30 April 

  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw is meeting with the Executive Director of The Food Foundation, Anna Taylor.
  • NFU President Tom Bradshaw is attending a meeting with the Agricultural Forum.
  • The NFU is hosting a joint MP drop-in event alongside eNGOs. This is to ask MPs to push the Chancellor to protect the Agriculture Budget.
  • NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be attending a government and poultry sector stakeholder Salmonella National Control Plan meeting in York.

Thursday 1 May

  • NFU Deputy President David Exwood will be attending a meeting on Accelerating Adoption of Innovative Agri Technologies.
  • Beef & Lamb New Zealand representatives are meeting with NFU representatives in London.
  • Local elections are taking place in England. There will also be a by-election to elect the new MP for Runcorn and Helsby.
  • NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be attending a GB Avian Influenza Core Group Later that day, she will be meeting with the M&S agricultural team.

Friday 2 May

  • The NFU Poultry Board will be meeting with Defra officials to discuss proposed fair dealings regulations in the egg sector.
  • NFU chief poultry adviser Aimee Mahony will be attending a Laying Hen Welfare Forum meeting alongside other stakeholders.
