Position nominated for: President
A pivotal time for British farming. If elected I want to lead your officeholder team, to focus on four priority areas for a commercially business-focused NFU:
- A dynamic and growing F&G membership: NFU must be relevant to its entire membership across England and Wales, supporting differing sectorial demands that help achieve successful, profitable businesses.
- Supply Chain, Consumer, Environmental, Educational and Skills Campaigns: Farming Matters to every citizen. I want to empower a new era of activist campaigners, build new alliances that reposition where food and farming sits in the eyes of the nation.
- UK Fair Trade: Strengthening farmers’ and growers’ routes to market, defining procurement rules, ensuring FAIR returns from transparent supply chains.
- Trade, Labour, Regulation and Agricultural policy : In addition to prioritising these policies there is an urgent need for a British Agriculture Trade Policy Manifesto given Trade will shape our landscape for decades.
