Joe manages a 1,500 hectare Estate in mid- Lincolnshire, growing combinable crops, packing potatoes and 14,000 tonnes of sugar beet delivered to British Sugar Factories at Newark and Wissington.
Joe is BASIS, FACTS and BETA qualified and a current AHDB Monitor farmer. He participated in the 2023/24 Sugar Industry Programme prior to joining the NFU Sugar Board.
With agriculture having faced many issues in the past five years and with many more to come, Joe is keen to support stability in the homegrown beet sector, giving growers, contractors and hauliers confidence to invest in the long-term future.
Joe is particularly interested in supporting the work of the BBRO to improve the efficiency of the UK beet crop and unlocking insetting premiums for growers to sharpen the competitive edge of UK sugar on the open market.
