Nick Skinner
Founder, Poppyfish People Development LimitedNick Skinner founded Poppyfish People Development Limited in 2012. He is an organizational development consultant, executive coach and facilitator with experience in leading a wide range of employee engagement programmes, culture change, safety, leadership and management development initiatives.
Whilst most of his work has been through independent consultancy and facilitation, Nick has twenty years of public sector experience and has worked as project manager for UK PLC businesses around staff engagement, inclusivity and change, and has particular experience of the design and delivery of culture change and engagement programmes. Much of this work is in the agricultural, biotech, biomed, pharmaceutical, agri-business, grocery, retail, construction, and engineering sectors where Nick has international experience, having worked with teams in the UK, US, India, EMEA, and in mainland Europe.
Nick supports PhD development skills programmes for a number of universities and research organisations and has provided services to the University of Hertfordshire, University of Plymouth, Lancaster University, Birkbeck College, and Amity University in London, and supported programmes accredited via Chicago Booth University in the US. He is especially experienced in the field of team engagement, performance, alignment and behaviour.
Nick has an MBA with Distinction from the University of Hertfordshire Business School and an MSc in People and Organisational Development from Roffey Park (University of Sussex) where his research focused on critical incident decision making.
He lives in Hertfordshire, UK, and is the co-author of a three volume book, “Blood, Sweat and Tears” published by Business Expert Press in 2018.
