Philip’s career has given him much experience from different parts of the supply chain as well as public policy.

He is now head of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) at ABP UK and is responsible for ABP’s trial farm and research work that supports a major integrated beef programme and a 350-strong group of supplying farms that are collaborating with ABP to help improve the sustainability of red meat.

ABP UK are key suppliers to major retailers and his role is committed to ensuring UK livestock production and meat processing has a bright future.

Philip has strong public and private sector experience, from developing policy in Whitehall and Brussels with senior ministers, to procuring livestock for a major beef and lamb company and leading a major retailer’s sourcing strategy and R&D portfolio.

Philip was also the NFU’s head of food and farming until August 2023 and worked with past and current commodity board representatives and officeholder teams through the tumultuous times of EU exit, Covid and the Ukraine invasion.
