Mike Hambly is currently the Chairman of the National and South West Regional Crops Board, as well as Vice Chairman of Brussels Copa-Cogeca Cereals Group, Vice Chairman of the European Oilseed Alliance and NIABTAG Technical Committee Chairman for Cornwall.
Mike says:
"I'm delighted to be able to continue the important work that the crops board has been conducting on behalf of members. Much of this work continues over long periods before satifactory conclusions can be achieved. The board is benfitting from the experience and continuity existing board members bring. And together, with the new members, who bring fresh ideas and perspectives, we are committed to delivering for the arable membership.
"The board's priorities are to work on the regulatory environment in a way that does not compromise the technical efficiency of prodcuers or place the sector at a comparative diasdvatange to its competitors on the domestic and world market. In addition, in the current markets, the board will focus on policies that can deliver a positive influence to the bottom line profit for members."
Robert Lockhart is the vice chairman of the national combinable crops board and the chairman of the West Midlands Regional Crops Board, a member of the West Midlands Regional Horticulture Board and a member of the NFU Potato Forum.
Robert says:
"I'm very pleased to be standing again for another two years. It will enable the team, Mike, Guy Gagen and Tori Morgan, to continue to support the sector through a time of low prices and continuing high input prices.
"We're entering an interesting period within Europe with increased regulation and constraints on the arable sector. I'm very pleased to be able to continue our work and hope to see some fruitful conclusions in the future."
