The announcement follows ongoing conversations between the retailer and the NFU to encourage them to make British products clear to customers.
The new labelling will be visible on own label cheddar, as part of the group’s commitment to use 100% British milk for the product.
The NFU welcomes the move, as clear origin labelling for dairy products has been a key NFU ask.
We want to seethat when dairy products are made from British milk, they are clearly labelled, giving the consumer accurate origin information on which to base their purchase.
