Mr Sercombe, who farms at Frisby-on-the-Wreake near Melton Mowbray, was first elected chairman back in 2012.
Richard Findlay, a farmer in North Yorkshire, was elected vice chairman.
Mr Sercombe said the priorities for the board going forward were:
- To ensure deadweight market transparency for lamb – see the introduction of mandatory price reporting
- Assess the impact of the new grids on the beef supply chain, so farmers are not disadvantaged
- Hold AHDB to account on the use of levy payers money
- Red Tractor new standards reflect the wishes of the beef and sheep sector
- Red tape - see the introduction of the CPH merge to amalgamate holdings to simplify livestock movements and reporting
- And the EU to accept our proposal to move to a 31May cut off and to use dentition thereafter
Other board changes for 2016-18 include Colin Rowland representing the South West region, West Midlands board chairman Rob Alderson and Wyn Evans from NFU Cymru.
