Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue
You can now send Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue your farm data to help in the event of a fire.
Information such as emergency contacts, nearby water supplies and the location of any rainwater collection tanks will help the service to act swiftly in the event of an incident.
You will likely already be aware that the Government has launched a public consultation on its Land Use Framework. As part of this consultation, Defra is working with partner organisations to hold a series of stakeholder workshops. Fenland SOIL will be hosting the Fens workshops, collaborating with the NFU.
The insights and perspectives gathered from this engagement will inform Government’s development of a Land Use Framework for England. The Framework will establish a shared long-term vision for land use and will play a crucial role in delivering the Government’s environmental, social, and economic objectives.
Due to our large catchment area, we will be hosting two workshops to maximise the ability of our members and wider stakeholders to engage in this crucial opportunity to voice your views on the future of UK land use. The workshop options will be:

9 April 2025

Overview of policy affecting the Fens

Series of workshop activities to generate the appropriate outputs for our report to Defra
This is a pivotal consultation that will have a lasting impact on policy direction going forward and it is integral that as many people’s views as possible are put to Defra. Whether you are keen to see a change to land use in your area, or are completely opposed to land use change, we would like to hear from you.

The Big Farm Tea Break
Date
24 - 30 March 2025
Spring is the time of year on a farm when it seems everywhere you look there is a job waiting. Lambing, calving and tractor work all add to the pressure, it’s easy to feel there is no time to breathe.
Due to this pressure, we miss out on visits to the local shops, markets, Young Farmers or the pub. Those communities we are part of are still there and keen to always be there for you.
It’s amazing how stopping for a conversation puts everything into perspective for you and people around you.
So, during the Big Farm Tea Break, let’s all come together as a community.
Lynda and Andy wish they could have had the chance to say the right words at the right time. They can’t but you can.
Please share your photos and #Lens Light
No one in the rural community should feel isolated or alone.
