National Day of Unity – The county would like to do a display / exhibition of Shropshire produce at the Telford Shopping Centre on Saturday 25th for the day of unity. At the time of writing, the County Adviser is still in battle with Telford & Wrekin Council for permission to do this as we would like to do it at Southwater. If the Council are not willing to support local farmers, we will have to change plans quickly, so please keep an eye on the WhatsApp Group.
County Council - The County Adviser had a catch up with the leader of Shropshire County Council this week. Amongst the topics of discussion was the forthcoming local Government Elections, the Council’s motion in support of removing the proposed changed to IHT and BPR, Infrastructure projects including the NWR and the Vyrnwy Frankton Pylons and of course housing and planning, in particular in the Clun Catchment.

The NFU is reminding livestock farmers to remain vigilant to the risk of ragwort poisoning. Here's some advice on control and disposal.
Ragwort poses a real risk to animal health, with potentially fatal consequences if it is ingested by horses or livestock, either in its green or dried state. Left unchecked, a ragwort problem is likely to become worse, as the species is highly vigorous. A single specimen can produce up to 150,000 seeds with a germination rate of up to 70%.
