Family Cooking Showdown for NFU regional director

First published10 October 2018

NFU south east regional director William White is preparing to show us his prowess in the kitchen on television.

William is one of three members of his family making up a team taking part in the new series of the BBC's Family Cooking Showdown. It’s a ‘competitive food show celebrating the families who make ordinary food extraordinary’.

The show is now in its second series, and William's family's episode airs on Monday 15 October at 7pm on BBC2.

Former Celebrity Masterchef winner Angellica Bell and award-winning chef Tommy Banks will be presenting and judging the competition. Tommy is the founder of The Black Swan in Yorkshire, and was Britain's youngest ever Michelin-starred chef. His family are also farmers and members of the NFU.

The ‘Hampshire Whites’ got through auditions for the programme on the basis that they were backing British food and all three team members have strong connections to food and farming.

As to their cooking abilities, it is William’s daughter Molly that is both the skilled cook and brains behind the team.

Don't forget to tune in on Monday to see how William and his family fare.
