Acorus is a well-established firm of surveyors, planning consultants and architects which provides advice and support to farmers, landowners and other rural businesses from its offices in Exeter and Bury St Edmunds.
The acquisition forms part of plans under the NFU’s organisational review to increase profit from its commercial subsidiaries.
Adding further value to NFU membership
Speaking on the announcement, NFU Commercial & Investment Director Ken Sutherland said that Acorus are “leaders in agriculture and architectural design”, pointing out that their expertise will be a “real benefit” to many NFU members across the country.
He added: “At the NFU, we are always looking to grow our range of professional services and this acquisition will add further value for our members.”
James Whilding, Managing Director at Acorus said that joining the NFU group of companies provides a “considerable opportunity to increase market presence within the property sector”.
