The run-up to Christmas was particularly busy in the Carlisle office.
Following the creation of a new role of NFU Coordinator, the team in Carlisle were busy getting out and about at meetings and focusing on dealing with what’s important to our NFU members.
We had meetings with our local MPs Mark Jenkinson and John Stevenson, where topics discussed included food security, upland farming issues, inflation, EU laws, energy, and the new bypass road.
It was great to see so many members turn out for our Sustainable Farming Incentive and Countryside Stewardship scheme meetings, as well as our final member meeting of the year on Farming Rules for Water and the Slurry Infrastructure Grant.
We are now looking forward to seeing many more of our members at events over the coming months.
