Broiler sector – take part in our poultry shed age survey

06 February 2025

The exterior of a broiler shed

Broiler producers, rearers and breeders are being asked to help the NFU to understand the age and condition of poultry sheds across the UK, to aid lobbying work for the sector.

The NFU is seeking input from members and non-members within the broiler sector to contribute to the NFU's poultry shed age survey.

Mirroring a study last conducted by the NFU in 2014, the survey aims to inform our understanding of the current age and condition of the UK's poultry sheds.

The data collected will be used to inform the NFU's policy work by allowing us to understand the age and condition of key infrastructure within the sector and will allow the NFU to highlight where investment is needed.

The results of this survey will provide a much needed update to the previous figures collected in 2014 and help to inform the NFU's policy work on a range of key policy areas.

How to complete the survey

The survey is currently open to members and non-members operating within the broiler sector. It will be expanded to include other sectors such as eggs in the spring.

Those producers currently operating within the broiler sector are asked to complete the survey in one of three ways:

Option 1: For producers who operate a single farm or site

Please use our online form.

Option 2: For producers who operate up to 12 sites

Please download this excel form and return it via email to [email protected]

Option 3: For larger producers who operate multiple sites or more than 11 sheds on a single site

Please download this excel form for larger producers and return it via email to [email protected].
