Mark 19 December in your calendars
We’ll be hosting a joint day of campaign action on 19 December up and down the UK by displaying our roadside banners in prominent locations for all to see.
This is just the beginning, and we want you to display banners throughout the coming months, and send your pictures into us at [email protected].
This is a joint campaign with the four UK farming unions standing in solidarity, representing farmers and growers in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
This is just the next step in our campaign, and we’ll be continuing to push for change for as long as it takes. In the end, it is only a mix of public support and political pressure which will change this awful policy.
How to get our campaign banners
Working with our network of county advisers, we’ve initially identified key, targeted locations to display the banners on 19 December. These areas have been chosen to give maximum strategic political impact in constituencies that can help build pressure on the government.
These locations could include the roadside, in a farm shop or a public-facing right of way. Banners on gateposts will feature a QR code that will take you to the Stop the Family Farm Tax campaigns area of NFUonline.
Following our Big Banner Day on 19 December, all NFU members will automatically receive a campaign car sticker via the February issues of our membership magazines (which will land on your doorsteps from 10 January 2025) British Farmer & Grower and Farming Wales, alongside a cut-out poster.
In January, NFU members and the public will also be able to order more campaign materials – banners and car stickers – through our online shop. We have worked to ensure these will be available to purchase at cost price only. More details will be available on this soon.
Finding a banner near you
For our joint day of action, we’ll publish a map with pins of the locations right here on NFUonline.
