The initiative, at Bridgnorth Livestock Market, will be led by Bridgnorth NFU and Shropshire officers and aims to engage the farming community and offer crime prevention.
The meeting will be held on 23 January at 1.30pm in the livestock mart’s café.
Edward Garratt, NFU county adviser, said: “This meeting is open to everyone and we would encourage as many people as possible to attend following a perceived rise in rural crime in the area.
“Rural crime officers from West Mercia, Shropshire and Staffordshire will come along alongside others concerned with crime prevention.
“I would also call for farmers to remain vigilant in rural areas, join Farmwatch schemes and keep an eye out for suspicious people or vehicles.
“The rural community works closely with the police and we would urge people to report anything unusual to officers or contact Crimestoppers anonymously if they have information.”
For further information on the event please contact the Bridgnorth NFU office on 01746 763198.
In an emergency farmers are encouraged to call the police on 999 or the alternative emergency number 112 and if a matter is urgent, but not an emergency, then they can dial 101.
Anyone with information about rural crime can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or fill in a form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org on-line.
