Shearing season 2021: Read COVID-19 guidance

First published16 April 2021

The NFU has helped create best-practice guidelines for the 2021 season, which are now available to download.

The National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC) has worked with the NFU and other organisations to update its Covid-19 Checklist for Shearing Contractors and Farmers 2021.

This guidance covers how to keep yourself and others safe while you have shearers on the farm, including tips on preparation, machinery and your responsibilities.

It has also been confirmed that international sheep shearers have been granted special concession to enter the UK for work in 2021 and 2022. This news will bring relief to those who rely on shearers from abroad.
