Time to tackle ragwort say Dorset farmers

Farmers have taken Dorset Council to task over the abundance of ragwort currently flourishing on highways and grass verges.

Following feedback from members, the NFU has written to the council to highlight the issue and encourage it to take action to bring this injurious weed under control and comply in its duty of preventing ragwort from spreading to agricultural land, as per the Weed Act 1959.
