The scheme covers the counties of Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
The Woodland Trust has over 100,000 free trees available across the South West, but please apply as soon as possible to secure your trees as this scheme has been very popular in previous years and packs have been distributed quickly.
How to get involved
There will be woodland creation experts on hand when you collect your trees, offering advice on woodland creation, agroforestry and the various funding options available.
To participate:
♦ Visit the Woodland Trust website
♦ Fill out the online application form, providing basic information about your interest in the free trees programme.
♦ Select the tree packs and protection that best suit your farm’s needs and choose a collection date/site across the South West.
♦ You will receive a confirmation email and a reminder from the Woodland Trust a couple of days before your chosen event with the final details for collection.
Different species mixes
You can apply for up to two packs of 45 trees and have a choice of four different species mixes, including trees suitable for thorny hedgerows, browsing hedgerows, copses and wet woodland.
Tree protection is included with your tree packs. You can plant your trees in existing hedgerows, as standards, or in a cluster to create a copse.
You can collect your trees at events throughout November and December 2024.
The tree packs are funded by Lloyds Banking Group.
